ii. Leadership [ἀρχισυνά]γωγος, [archisyna]gogos (l. 6). The same man was also high-priest of the association (ἀρχιερεύς, archiereus, l. 6).

Note Given the fact that the members of the association belonged to the cavalry (hippeis, l. 5), they were men.

Note As military men, the members of the association were adults.

iv. Honours/Other activities The association of hippeis stationed in the Arsinoites showed their loyalty to the Royal House by dedicating the inscription on behalf of the King and Queen.

Note The restoration [ἀρχισυνά]γωγος, [archisyna]gogos in l. 6 seems certain and would leave no doubts about this being a private association.
